You don’t need another reason to stress over your party, it’s time to hire a caterer. Parties are great. Great music, great people, and great food all make for a great time. Especially the food. Though if you’re the one planning the party, your case may be different. There are tons of moving parts when it comes to hosting a party. There’s the guest list, venue, budget, music, and most importantly food. Who should we invite? Becky from accounting? But not her boyfriend? Live music or a DJ? What’s hip these days anyway? How do you get more bang for your buck? Well, take one thing off your plate and hire a caterer. “But I can handle it! I can cook for 200 people easily!” you think. Just read these 7 reasons to hire a caterer and then tell us what you think. 1. No one goes hungry. The last thing you want to happen at a party is for someone to go hungry. “Is there any more food?” your nephew asks in your nightmare. “There is none left,” you reply. Fortunately, this is the real world and not all the stress from party planning coming out in your nightmares. By hiring a caterer, be assured that everyone will be fed. Someone else is making sure that happens. 2. It’s professional quality. You’re no amateur. This ain’t your first rodeo. You know your stuff. Let the food speak for you. Caterers are professionals. Therefore, you can rest assured that your food reflects your reputation. 3. It’s a team effort. If not being a part of the process is what you’re worried about, don’t. Working with a caterer is a collaborative experience. Well, how do you accommodate everyone’s preferences and dietary restrictions? Make sure the caterer works for you not against you. A good caterer can make sure their food is coeliac, vegan, dairy-free, fructose free, halal and nut-free. 4. The caterer is in charge of the service. Stop worrying about serving your guests cold chicken by accident. That’s the caterer’s job. Caterers will help make sure your guests are enjoying themselves, the party, and the food you personally picked out for them to enjoy. Some caterers will just deliver the food ready to go or take over your kitchen and make a great mess. Then there are mobile caterers who cook from their van or set up a mobile kitchen in your back yard! This is where I plug our uniqueness; in addition to serving awesome food, part of our service (Flying Woks) is to entertain cooking before your guests’ very eyes. Uncle Ben won’t be able to stop talking about it for the next month. 5. The caterers worry about the little things. From allergies to preferences to critique. Let the caterers worry about it. The last thing you need to worry about is Cindy’s new diet fad or the fact that your niece is a hardcore vegan now. This day isn’t about that, it’s about anything but worrying about people’s allergies or preferences. Let someone else worry about it. 6. Make a statement Although everyone knows you care already, prove it. Hiring a professional caterer shows that you’re not messing around. This is an event you care about. You’re putting the effort in. You’re setting an example. However, if you want to interpret what it means to hire a caterer, generally, it means that you’re making a statement. The type of catering you select and the way it is presented will be viewed by your guests as an extension of your personality. 7. Stay in the moment. Parties are special moments. They’re supposed to be joyful occasions. Bask in the joy. Don’t worry about food. Don’t worry about the service. Don’t worry about anything. Stay in the moment by knowing you have a team backing you.
